Definition
SFW is an acronym standing for "Safe For Work," used to label content that contains no nudity, sexual themes, or otherwise explicit material. Posts tagged with meta:sfw are considered appropriate for all audiences and can be viewed comfortably in any setting without concern for encountering adult content.
This tag encompasses a wide range of content including fully clothed characters, scenic illustrations, action sequences, and any other material that does not require content filtering. It sits at the opposite end of the content spectrum from NSFW and NSFL tagged posts.
SFW represents a high safety standard, not merely the absence of explicit tags. In addition to text-based content rules, the image itself must also be fully SFW, as this tag represents the default public-facing state of the platform and must remain safe for unrestricted browsing in all regions and for all users without exception.
Usage
The meta:sfw tag is automatically applied on upload if chosen.
It serves as the baseline visibility level on the site, meaning posts with this tag are shown to all visitors regardless of account status. Unregistered users browsing the site will only see meta:sfw content by default.
Like the other meta content filter tags, meta:sfw cannot be manually added or removed by users as it is handled automatically by the system based on the absence of explicit tags.
