Furry refers to fictional anthropomorphic animal characters that possess both human and animal traits. Unlike kemonomimi characters who are essentially human with animal ears, furry characters display a much more pronounced blend of animal and human characteristics. This typically includes a fully animal-like head with a snout or beak, fur or scales covering the body, paws or clawed hands, and an overall animalistic silhouette while maintaining humanoid posture and often human-like intelligence and behavior.

Apply this tag to bots featuring characters with significant anthropomorphic animal traits that go beyond simple ears or tails. The character should display animalistic facial features, body coverings such as fur or scales, or other distinctly non-human anatomical traits.

This tag is distinct from kemonomimi, which refers to human characters with only animal ears and tails. The presence of an animal-like face or snout is generally the dividing line between the two tags. A character with a human face and fox ears is kemonomimi, while a character with a fox snout, fur-covered body, and pawed hands is furry.

The Japanese term kemono is often used interchangeably with furry, though kemono can sometimes carry a more specific connotation referring to the distinct Japanese anthropomorphic art style. Both tags may be applied together when appropriate.
