Low Effort Image is a meta tag for character cards whose main image is extremely low quality, missing, or substantially irrelevant to the character or subject of the card.

This tag may be used alongside low_effort, which concerns the overall effort or quality of a character card rather than the quality of its main image specifically.

Usage

Apply this tag when the main image is of extremely low resolution, missing entirely, or is substantially irrelevant to the character or subject represented by the card.

The image should be evaluated based on its technical quality and relevance, rather than its content, fetish, aesthetic, or personal appeal.

Do not apply this tag merely because an image is unusual, unattractive, cropped, or depicts content that a user personally dislikes.

Image Quality

Examples of images that may qualify include:

• An extremely low-resolution image that is clearly unsuitable as the card's main image.
• A completely blank, placeholder Avatar, black square (Chub FUZZ) or missing image.
• An image that is technically present but so low quality that it provides little useful representation of the character.

Image Relevance

The main image should reasonably represent the character or subject described by the card.

A substantially incorrect image may qualify as low_effort_image when the mismatch is significant enough that the image should reasonably be replaced.

For example, a card for Zelda using an image depicting Link and Ganon instead may qualify if the image does not actually represent the character the card is for.

Do not be overly pedantic about actions depicted within images or minor discrepancies of the characters. Differences such as slightly incorrect hair color, eye color, clothing, or other small details are not sufficient on their own.

The mismatch should be substantial enough that the image is clearly unsuitable or misleading as the card's primary representation.

What Does Not Qualify

Do not apply this tag based solely on the subject matter or content of an image.

Examples that do not qualify solely for these reasons include:

• An intentionally cropped image, such as a close-up of feet.
• An image depicting scat or another fetish.
• An unusual or unconventional image that otherwise adequately represents the character.
• An image with minor inconsistencies in appearance, such as a slightly different hair or eye color.

The presence of a fetish, unusual subject matter, or personally disliked content does not make an otherwise acceptable image low effort.
