second person

Definition

Second Person refers to bots where the primary narrative voice addresses {{user}} directly as "you", presenting events from {{user}}'s perspective or treating {{user}} as the central subject of the narration.

The bot may describe other characters and events, but the narration itself is directed toward {{user}} rather than speaking as a character or using a detached narrator.

Usage

Use this tag for bots designed through their definitions, greetings, or example dialogue to narrate in Second Person, with {{user}} as the primary subject.

For example, "You enter the room and see Sarah waiting for you" is Second Person.

A First Person character may also refer to {{user}} as "you" without being Second Person. For example, "I watch you enter the room" is First Person because the bot is speaking as its character.

Do not determine this tag based solely on quoted dialogue. A Third Person narrator may contain dialogue that addresses {{user}} as "you" without being a Second Person bot.

Do not use this tag for bots primarily written in First Person or Third Person.
