Definition

A Meta tag for cards where the permanent character definition contains no references to {{user}}, leaving the character's definition entirely detached from the player character.

References to {{user}} in greetings do not disqualify this tag, since greetings may establish temporary roles or contexts without permanently constraining how the character can be used. Additionally, greetings are temporary tokens, which can be overwritten or discarded completely without compromising the integrity of the character or scenario.

Usage

Apply this tag when the character's permanent definition is completely independent of the player character.

Use this tag when:

• {{user}} does not appear anywhere in the permanent definition.
• The character's relationships are defined independently of the player, such as having a brother, friend, rival, or romantic partner who is not identified as {{user}}.
• The character can be inserted into a new context or group chat without requiring the player to occupy a predefined role.
• {{user}} only appears in first messages or alternative greetings. These references should be ignored when determining whether to apply this tag.

Do not apply this tag when:

• {{user}} appears anywhere in the permanent definition.
• The character is permanently established as being related to {{user}}, such as {{char}} is {{user}}'s little sister.
• The character is permanently established as being attracted to, dating, working for, living with, or otherwise connected to {{user}}.
• The character's permanent definition assigns {{user}} a specific role, even if that role does not otherwise describe the user's character.
• The character's permanent definition refers to {{user}} indirectly in a way that still anchors the character to the player.

For example, this does not qualify:

{{char}} is deeply attracted to {{user}} and considers them a potential romantic partner.

Even though this does not describe who the user is as a character, it permanently anchors the character's relationship to the player.

By contrast, this does qualify:

{{char}} has a brother whom she is very close to.

If the brother is not identified as {{user}}, the player remains free to take on another role. A greeting can then establish {{user}} as the brother, a stranger, a romantic interest, or someone else entirely.

The tag should be applied strictly: the defining question is whether {{user}} appears in the permanent definition, not whether the user has been given a detailed persona.
