abuse victim

Definition

Abuse victim is a Scenario tag for a character who is, or has been, the victim of abuse or abusive treatment.

Usage

Apply this tag when a character is explicitly established as having experienced abuse, whether the abuse is ongoing, occurred in the past, or forms part of the character's established history.

The abuse does not need to be occurring in the current scenario. A character who is described as a former victim of abuse can still receive this tag.

This tag can apply regardless of the type of abuse involved, including physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or other forms of abuse.

Use abuse alongside this tag when the character is involved in an abusive situation.

When the specific form of abuse is relevant, apply the appropriate specific abuse tag as well. For example, use child_abuse when the character was abused as a child, or animal_abuse when the victim is an animal.

Do not apply this tag merely because a character has experienced hardship, violence, conflict, or mistreatment that does not constitute abuse.

Do not apply it to a character solely because they are the person carrying out abuse, unless they are also established as a victim of abuse.
