monster girl

Definition

Monster girl refers to a female character who is part-human and part-monster, combining a predominantly human appearance with substantial non-human anatomy or traits from a monster species.

Monster girls typically have a human face and torso with non-human features such as animalistic arms, legs, claws, scales, wings, tails, or other monster anatomy.

Usage

Apply this tag to female characters who are visibly a combination of human and monster, rather than simply being a human character with minor animal features.

The character should retain a substantially human appearance while having prominent non-human anatomy. Examples include:

• A woman with a human face and torso but a snake-like lower body
• A woman with a human upper body and insectoid legs or other insect anatomy
• A woman with a human body combined with substantial reptilian, avian, or other monster features
• A monster species depicted as a distinctly human-monster hybrid, where the human and monster aspects are both visually significant

This tag may be used alongside more specific monster-girl tags where applicable, such as snake_girl, spider_girl, or other *_girl monster tags.

Do not apply this tag to ordinary kemonomimi characters whose only non-human features are minor traits such as animal ears or a tail. For example, a typical cat girl or fox girl does not qualify solely because she has animal ears and a tail.

Do not apply this tag when the character is simply a non-human monster with a humanoid appearance. A demon girl or other fully non-human species should use the appropriate species or *_girl tag instead when applicable.

The defining characteristic is the combination of a substantially human appearance with substantial monster anatomy. The character does not need to be literally described as a biological hybrid as long as the visual or textual depiction clearly combines human and monster traits.
